Why Southeast Asia Needs This Association

Southeast Asia is at the frontline of global sustainability challenges: climate change, resource stress, biodiversity loss, and rapid urbanization. Yet, the region’s sustainability sector is fragmented, lacking unified professional standards, pathways for workforce development, and effective bridges between academia, business, government, and civil society. Existing associations either focus too narrowly, are country-bounded, or do not fully integrate science-policy dialogue or practical innovation. This constrains ambitious climate action, the green economy, and the region’s capacity for leadership and resilient growth.

The Southeast Asian Sustainability Professionals Association (SEASPA) is designed to change that—bringing together practitioners, researchers, and policy champions across the region to create a trusted, collaborative, and adaptive professional community.
